The Patriot Act
gave law enforcement a raft of new powers to investigate people which has caused Government wiretaps and searches to increase 75 percent
. While they are executing more searches, are they doing any good?
Based on this report regarding the house that Terry Nichols lived in
during 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, I think not. To have found blasting caps and other explosive related materials a decade after their original search of the premises, would tend to reduce any confidence in the ability of the FBI to conduct any effective search. If they couldn't find this stuff with an all out team, how good can they be if they are trying to conduct a surreptitious search?
